Tips for Success in Today's World

How do you get your music out there? This is a question that many musicians ask themselves before they even write their first song. It's not an easy task, but with these helpful tips, it can be made easier. In this article we will cover some great tips for success in today's world of music.

1. Submit your music into song contests

This is a great way to get started. Song contests are held all the time, and there are many that have different levels of entry. You can find ones that are open to anyone, or ones that are specific to certain genres of music. There's no harm in submitting your music and seeing what happens!

If you're serious about making music your career though, it's best to start thinking of the long term returns that come with entering songwriting contests instead of just seeing them as a way to get your music out there. Winning or placing high in a reputable songwriting contest can lead to some great opportunities, such as:

  • Getting signed by an A&R representative from a record label

  • Being featured on a compilation album that's released by the winning organization

  • Gaining radio airplay and media attention

  • Having your song included in a film or TV show

  • Getting noticed by other industry professionals that could help you out.

As mentioned earlier, there are many different levels to each contest - some are open to everyone while others have certain requirements for entry. Make sure you read the rules carefully before submitting anything! They also usually require an application fee, so be prepared for that as well.

There are many contest out there but here are just a few to check out:

2. Create and promote your own artist website

This is probably the best way to get heard because you're in full control of what people hear when they visit it. You can share music, videos, photos, blogs and much more on these types of sites. Make sure that whatever site you create has a professional feel to it; make sure there are no misspellings and that it looks as good as possible.

There are several sites that make it easy to create your own artist website such as Bandzoogle, Wix and Squarespace. You can also use a domain name and web hosting to create your own site if you're comfortable doing that. Whichever route you choose, make sure the website is easy to navigate and well-organized.

3. Create a Social Media Presence

Creating a social media presence is a great way to connect with fans and other musicians. It's also a great way to get your music heard. Here are some tips for creating a social media presence that will help you reach your musical goals:

  • Make sure all of your social media profiles are consistent and have the same branding. This includes using the same profile pictures, banner images, and colors.

  • Use keywords in your profile descriptions that will help people find you online.

  • Share interesting and engaging content on a regular basis. This could be anything from music videos to blog posts about your songwriting process.

  • Interact with your followers by replying to their comments and messages.

  • Use hashtags to increase your visibility to people who are searching for certain keywords.

There are many different social media sites out there, which you probably already know since they've become so popular. The most effective ones for musicians include Facebook Fan Page, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube Channel and Reddit Music.

3. Start a YouTube Channel

Many musicians are already familiar with YouTube, but did you know that it's also one of the best ways to get your music out there? You can upload videos of yourself performing new songs or covers; these could then be shared on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

YouTube is another type of social media site (although it's technically a video sharing website), so you can share your music there as well. You could also create a channel specifically for your music and post videos of yourself talking about the songs, what they mean to you, or even just giving people a tour of where you record!

There are many different ways to use YouTube as an artist; it really depends on what you want to achieve. Some artists simply want to share their music with others, while others use it as a way to connect with fans and create a closer relationship. There are no wrong answers when it comes to using YouTube as an artist!

Just be sure that you're creating high-quality videos (with good sound) that you believe in. If your goal is to get people interested in your music, then these videos need to show off what makes you unique and why they should listen!

4. Get Your Music on Online Music Streaming Services

There are hundreds of different online music streaming services out there, but how can you actually get your music onto them? There's good news for musicians who use TuneCore or SoundCloud Pro Unlimited to upload their songs; these two websites make it easy to put your songs onto popular platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

TuneCore is a great option for musicians who want to get their music on as many streaming services as possible. You can upload your songs and have them distributed to over 150 different platforms worldwide. This includes popular services like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more.

SoundCloud Pro Unlimited offers some great features that are perfect for musicians. This includes unlimited uploads, the ability to track plays and stats, and the ability to monetize your music on their own platform. It also allows you to get your music onto platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and more.

Both of these services make it easy to get your music out there and heard by a larger audience. If you're looking for an easy way to distribute your music, then TuneCore or SoundCloud Pro Unlimited are great options!

5.Add your music to internet radio services, like Last.FM or Pandora

Internet radio sites are great for musicians because they have millions of users who love to discover new music. If your goal is to get heard by a lot of people, then you should definitely consider adding your songs onto internet radio services like Last.FM and Pandora.

Last.FM has over 140 million active listeners worldwide; it's one of the most popular internet radio services around. Since last.fm uses Spotify and YouTube Music as the playback source, they recommend uploading your music to these services to get on last.fm.

Pandora is another great option for musicians; it has over 80 million active users and offers a unique listening experience for it's listeners.

Both Last.FM and Pandora are great options for getting your music heard by a lot of people and you can use the previous services mentioned like TuneCore or SoundCloud Pro Unlimited to help get you there.

Conclusion

It's not easy to get your music out there in today's world. However, with the right tools and strategies you'll be able to reach a new audience who are looking for fresh content or unheard voices.

These are just a few of the many ways you can get your music out there; be sure to experiment and find what works best for you!
