In our last post, we had a look at the top ten country songwriters of all time. Today we take a look at the best and upcoming country songwriters of 2022. These are the writers that are shaping the sound of country music today, and who will continue to do so in the years to come.
Josh Osborne
Josh Osborne is a prolific songwriter who has written hits for some of the biggest names in country music. From 2019 to 2021, his songs "Kinfolks," "Hard To Forget," and "Breaking Up Was Easy In The 90's" were among the most popular country songs. Blake Shelton's duet with Gwen Stefani, "Nobody But You." Osborne is a multiple award-winner, including Songwriter of the Year at the ACM Awards.
Ashley Gorley
Ashley Gorley is one of the most successful songwriters in country music, with 50 No. 1 songs to his credit. His hits include "One Big Country Song" (LOCASH), "Remember You Young" (Thomas Rhett), and "Hole In The Bottle" (Kelsea Ballerini). Gorley has won multiple awards, including ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year and MusicRow's Male Songwriter of the Year.
Randy Montana
Randy Montana is a country singer and songwriter who has released two albums and several singles. His hits include "Ain't Much Left of Lovin' You" and "1,000 Faces." Montana has been nominated for several awards, including the ACM Awards' New Male Vocalist of the Year.
Michael Hardy
Michael Hardy, better known as HARDY, is a successful singer and songwriter. In 2020, his songs "One Beer" and "Give Heaven Some Hell" were among the most popular country songs. Ross Copperman is a successful singer, songwriter, and producer. He has produced hits for Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Florida Georgia Line. Copperman has also written hits for Lady Antebellum, Brett Eldredge, and Darius Rucker. He is a multiple award-winner, including Producer of the Year at the ACM Awards.
Morgan Wallen

These are just a few of the many talented songwriters in country music today. They have all had great success with their songs and continue to write hits that resonate with fans. What these songwriters have taught us is that country music is always evolving and changing.
